Educational Qualification

test-takers must hold an ITI pass certificate in the relevant trade corresponding to the trade applied for, as listed in the opening table above.

Applicants who have already undergone, or are currently undergoing, apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Government, PSU, or Private Industrial organization (partially or fully) are not meeting criteria to submit .

test-takers awarded grading under the CGPA system must submit a University/Institute-issued certificate converting CGPA into an appropriate percentage.

IGCAR Apprentice Stipend 2026

Stipend rates are in line with the Gazette Notification (G.S.R. 610(E) dated 03-09-2025) on the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025, issued by the Ministry of Skill Development in addition to Entrepreneurship, along with rules applicable from time to time.

Applications will be shortlisted on the following basis:

The candidate must possess an ITI certificate in the trade applied for.

applicants are shortlisted for training based on the percentage of marks obtained in their ITI course.

In case of a tie in ITI marks percentage, test-takers with a higher percentage in 10th standard (8th standard only for Welder, Carpenter/Wood Work Technician, Mason/Civil Mistry, in addition to Plumber) are placed higher in the merit list.

If there is still a tie in 10th/8th class marks percentage, the candidate born earlier (older) is given preference.

Engagement as an Apprentice is subject to qualifying a standard medical examination prescribed by the Competent Authority.

Before commencement of training, aspirants must execute a Contract of Apprenticeship. On completion of the training period, every apprentice must undergo a Trade Test; only on passing it is a National Apprenticeship Certificate awarded via the Apprenticeship portal.

Police Verification Certificate from the local police station at the place of residence

Date of Birth Certificate/SSC certificate

8th/10th standard mark sheets prior to the ITI course

ITI trade certificates (NCVT/SCVT) with year-wise mark sheets in addition to consolidated mark sheet

How to Apply for IGCAR Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Register on the Apprenticeship India portal at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in for enrollment as an Apprentice. Applications will not be accepted without the unique registration number (e.g. AXXXXXXXXXX) obtained from this portal.

Full mandatory Aadhaar (e-KYC) verification of your enrollment on the apprenticeshipindia.gov.in portal.

Provide the same registered email ID along with mobile number (used during e-KYC registration) in your IGCAR application.

Prepare scanned documents in PDF format before filling the form: (i) Caste/Disability/EWS certificate, as well as (ii) 8th or 10th class mark sheet as applicable, ITI trade certificate (NCVT/SCVT), semester-wise mark sheet, in addition to consolidated mark sheet scanned as a single PDF.
