AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection is made through a two-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT):

Stage I – NORCET Preliminary: A 90-minute qualifying exam with 100 MCQs (100 marks) - 20 questions on General Knowledge & Aptitude along with 80 on Nursing subjects. There is negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer. This stage only qualifies test-takers for Stage II along with is not used for final merit.

Stage II – NORCET Mains: A 180-minute exam with 160 case-scenario-based MCQs (160 marks) covering the nursing syllabus, testing clinical skill competency. Final merit is based solely on Stage II performance. Negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer applies.

Qualifying marks for Stage I are 50 percentile (UR/EWS), 45 percentile (OBC), along with 40 percentile (SC/ST), with a further 5 percentile relaxation for PWBD applicants . Qualifying marks for Stage II are 50% (UR/EWS), 45% (OBC), along with 40% (SC/ST), with a similar 5% PWBD relaxation. test-takers qualifying in Stage I, up to 5 times the seats per category, are called for Stage II. Ties in Stage II merit are resolved sequentially by fewer negative marks in Stage II, higher Stage I score, fewer negative marks in Stage I, older date of birth, as well as finally alphabetical order of name.
