Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of submission of online application (16-06-2026). Eligibility is as per UGC Regulations Notification No. F.1-2/2017(EC/PS), dated 18th July 2018 and as amended from time to time. The period spent by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and/or Ph.D. degree shall not be considered as research experience. Candidates above 60 years will not be eligible to apply. Only matriculation/SSC certificate/pass certificate issued by the concerned educational board will be considered as proof of date of birth. | Essential Qualification – Professor (Eligibility A or B) | Eligibility Option Details Option A (i) An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant subject, published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulation No.F.1-2/2017(EC/PS), 18th July 2018. (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University/College as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and/or research experience at equivalent level at University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates. Option B An outstanding professional having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines from any academic institution (not included in Option A) / industry, who has made significant contribution to knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline supported by documentary evidence, provided he/she has ten years of experience. | Essential Qualification – Associate Professor (Eligibility) | Criteria Details Academic Qualification (i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant subject. (ii) A Master degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Non-creamy layer OBC/Differently abled) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or accredited foreign university. Relaxation of 5% in marks also applicable to Ph.D. degree holders who completed Master degree prior to 19 September, 1991. Experience A minimum of eight years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 75 as per Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulation No.F.1-2/2017(EC/PS), 18th July 2018. For Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Traditional Indian Art Forms (Option A) Good academic record with doctoral degree; performing ability of high professional standard; eight years' teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor; significant contribution to knowledge evidenced by quality publications. For Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Traditional Indian Art Forms (Option B) Traditional or professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement having Master's degree; been 'A'-grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan; eight years' outstanding performing achievement; experience in designing new courses/curricula; participation in National level Seminars/Conferences/Concerts; ability to explain the subject with logical reasoning and adequate knowledge to teach theory. | Essential Qualification – Assistant Professor (Eligibility A or B) | Eligibility Option Details Option A (i) A Master degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Non-creamy layer OBC/Differently abled) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or accredited foreign university. Ph.D. candidates registered prior to July 11, 2009, governed by then-existing Ordinances/Regulations, are also exempted subject to specified conditions. As per UGC Notification dated 30th June 2023, NET/SET/SLET shall be the minimum criteria for direct recruitment to Assistant Professor for all Higher Education Institutions. Option B Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, Times Higher Education (THE), or Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. For Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Traditional Indian Art Forms (Option A) Master's Degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject; must have cleared NET/UGC/CSIR/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016. For Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Traditional Indian Art Forms (Option B) Traditional or professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement having Bachelor's degree; studied under noted/reputed traditional Master(s)/Artist(s); been 'A'-grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan; ability to explain with logical reasoning; adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations.
