â Eligibility
Candidate must be a citizen of India. Must have passed Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) OR Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE norms 2002) OR Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR Graduation and a Two Year Diploma in Elementary Education. Additionally, candidates must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education. A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for Higher Secondary is available for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EC, Ex-Servicemen, and PwD categories. Candidates must have studied and passed the specific language (Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Oriya/Telugu) as the first or second language at the Higher Secondary level for the medium of instruction they seek appointment, with an exception for Santhali medium where proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Santhali (Ol-Chiki script) is required.
