Eligibility requirements vary by post. All posts require Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent as the base qualification, with additional trade-specific requirements as listed below. Post Qualification & Experience Required Civilian Catering Instructor (CCI) Matriculation or equivalent; Diploma/Certificate in catering from a recognised institution; one year of experience in catering as an instructor is desirable. Cook Matriculation or equivalent; knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in the trade; one year of trade experience is desirable. MTS (Chowkidar) Matriculation or equivalent; should be proficient in trade work. Civilian Motor Driver (CMD) Matriculation or equivalent; must possess a valid driving licence for both heavy and light motor vehicles; should have at least two years of driving experience. Cleaner Matriculation or equivalent; should be proficient in trade work. Tradesman Mate (Labour) Matriculation or equivalent; should be proficient in trade. Fire Engine Driver (FED) Matriculation or equivalent; should be proficient in trade work; at least three years’ experience driving heavy vehicles and a valid driving licence; preferably certified after attending a fireman course. Fireman Matriculation or equivalent; must be conversant with the use and maintenance of extinguishers, hose fittings, fire engines, trailers, pumps and foam branches; familiar with first-aid fire fighting appliances and trailer fire pump; must know elementary fire fighting principles and be able to perform assigned fire crew duties. Leading Fireman Matriculation or equivalent; must be conversant with the use and maintenance of all types of extinguishers, hose fittings and fire equipment; must be capable of training, guiding and controlling the working of the B crane, and capable of taking independent charge of a shift. Physical Standards & Skill/Endurance Test Certain posts require candidates to clear physical fitness and endurance standards before appearing for the written test. Post Physical/Endurance Requirement Tradesman Mate (Labour) 1.5 km run in 6 minutes and carrying a 50 kg weight to a distance of 200 metres in 100 seconds. Relaxed timings apply for Ex-servicemen by age band (below 40, 40–45, and above 45 years) as specified in the notification. Fire Engine Driver, Fireman & Leading Fireman Height without shoes: 165 cm (2.5 cm concession for ST candidates); Chest un-expanded: 81.5 cm; Chest expanded: 85 cm; Weight: 50 kg minimum. Endurance/Skill Test: carrying a man (fireman lift of 65.5 kg) a distance of 183 metres within 96 seconds; clearing a 2.7-metre-wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump); and climbing a 3-metre vertical rope using hands and feet.
