Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is not required; however, all essential qualifications must be from NMC/MCI/DCI/Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council or UGC recognized institutions as applicable. | Educational Qualification & Experience | Post Essential Qualification (Medical Candidates) Essential Qualification (Non-Medical Candidates) Experience Required Assistant Professor Medical qualification included in Schedule I & II or Part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 + Postgraduate qualification (MD/MS/DM/M.Ch.) in the relevant specialty Not applicable (Medical post only) 3 years teaching/research experience after PG degree (1 year for super-specialty DM/M.Ch. 2-3 year course) Associate Professor Medical qualification + MD/MS or DM/M.Ch. in respective discipline Master’s Degree in discipline/allied subject + Doctorate from a recognized University 6 years (MD/MS) or 4 years (DM/M.Ch. 2-5 year course) or 3 years (DM/M.Ch. 3 year course); Non-Medical: 6 years after Doctorate Additional Professor Medical qualification + MD/MS or DM/M.Ch. in respective discipline Master’s Degree in discipline/allied subject + Doctorate from a recognized University 10 years (MD/MS) or 8 years (DM/M.Ch. 2-5 year course) or 7 years (DM/M.Ch. 3 year course); Non-Medical: 10 years after Doctorate Professor Medical qualification + MD/MS or DM/M.Ch. in respective discipline Master’s Degree in discipline/allied subject + Doctorate from a recognized University 14 years (MD/MS) or 12 years (DM/M.Ch. 2-5 year course) or 11 years (DM/M.Ch. 3 year course); Non-Medical: 14 years after Doctorate
