The conducting body has announced that, Under the "Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (Direct Recruitment through Screening Examination) Regulations, 2025," the Commission may hold a Screening Examination for selection of aspirants for interview.

Only test-takers who qualify in the Screening Examination will be entitled to an Interview.

The final merit order is determined by adding 75% marks in the screening test in addition to 25% marks in the interview .

The Screening Examination is Objective Type (OMR-based), with 4 alternatives per question. Negative marking: one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for a wrong answer; a blank question carries no penalty; multiple answers to one question are treated as wrong.

Minimum efficiency standard: SC/ST aspirants must secure at least 35% marks in the Screening Examination; aspirants of other categories must secure at least 40% marks, to be placed in the merit/select list.

Research Scholars of the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme who have completed their tenure are given additional weightage in the screening examination, graded by the maximum marks of the exam as well as the duration of the fellowship completed.
