RRB Section Controller Eligibility Criteria 2026

Nationality

The conducting body has announced that, A citizen of India, or

The department has confirmed that, A subject of Nepal, or

A subject of Bhutan, or

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (certificate of requirements required)

Educational Qualification

Candidates should note that, Test-takers must hold a Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent . aspirants awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification are NOT meeting criteria to register .

Age Relaxation

No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC-NCL test-takers applying against unreserved openings . If meeting criteria for relaxation on multiple grounds, the highest applicable relaxation will be given.

Medical Standard

The official notification states that, Selection for the post of Section Controller involves the following stages:

Computer Based Test (CBT): Single stage, 120 minutes, 100 questions, with negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Shortlisting to the extent of 8 times the openings ; applicants must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each test battery to qualify; no negative marking

Document Verification (DV): Shortlisting at 1:1 ratio of openings , based on 70% weightage to CBT in addition to 30% weightage to CBAT

Medical Examination: As per Medical Standard A-2

Minimum Qualifying Marks (CBT)

UR: 40%

EWS: 40%

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 30%

SC: 30%

ST: 25%
