Important Dates for NESAC Walk-in Interview 2026

test-takers planning to attend the NESAC walk-in interview 2026 should note that there is no separate application deadline since this is a direct walk-in process. The interview dates differ post-wise, hence applicants must review the exact date applicable to their post code.

NESAC Eligibility Criteria 2026

NESAC Educational Qualification Post-Wise

The official notification states that, Each post under NESAC Recruitment 2026 has a distinct essential qualification linked to the required discipline, along with desirable experience that gives test-takers an edge during the interview.

Research Scientist: First Class M.Sc./M.Tech/M.Sc.(Tech) or equivalent postgraduate degree in the relevant discipline (Geology, Computer Science, Disaster Management, Environmental Science, or Atmospheric Science, depending on post code), along with one year of research/work experience in the specified field. A Ph.D. in the relevant field is considered desirable experience for most Research Scientist posts.

Junior Research Fellow: First Class M.Sc./M.Tech or equivalent postgraduate degree (or B.E./B.Tech for certain computer science posts) in the relevant discipline, along with a valid NET/GATE or equivalent qualification.

The department has confirmed that, Project Associate-I: First Class M.Sc. in Botany/Forestry/Environmental Science or equivalent discipline, along with a minimum of one year of experience in plant identification.

The conducting body has announced that, test-takers must clearly mention, with supporting proof, any specialization, dissertation, or thesis in the relevant field wherever applicable, as this is required for their application to be considered.

NESAC Age Limit 2026

The maximum age limit for NESAC Recruitment 2026 is calculated as on the date of interview as well as varies by post category, since Research Scientist, JRF, in addition to Project Associate-I posts have separate age ceilings.

Age relaxation of 5 years is available for SC/ST applicants as well as 3 years for OBC test-takers. NESAC Salary and Pay Scale 2026

The department has confirmed that, applicants checking the NESAC Research Scientist salary, NESAC JRF salary, or NESAC Project Associate salary can refer to the fixed monthly emoluments below, along with applicable allowances.

Junior Research Fellows along with Project Associates-I are meeting criteria only for casual leave, while Research Scientists are meeting criteria for leave as stated in the institution's rules. Apart from these, chosen test-takers will not be entitled to any benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees. Maternity leave, as per Government of India instructions, is available to all female Research Scientists along with JRFs.

NESAC Application Fee 2026

It is informed that, Since NESAC Recruitment 2026 does not have an online application process, eligible test-takers must follow these steps to attend the walk-in interview:

The conducting body has announced that, collect the biodata format from the authorized NESAC website: nesac.gov.in/category/career/

Interested applicants should know that, Type the biodata neatly in the prescribed format along with take a printout.

Attach self-attested photocopies of all supporting documents along with the original documents.

Aspirants are advised that, Report directly to NESAC, Umiam, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya, on the post-specific interview date (10, 11, or 12 August 2026).

Candidates should note that, Carry the original NOC if already employed in a Government/PSU/Autonomous Body, along with a valid Government photo ID for identity verification.

If applying for more than one post, carry a separate biodata for each post applied for.

Important Instructions for NESAC Recruitment 2026

Aspirants are advised that, No request for change of interview date or venue will be entertained.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

aspirants must make their own arrangements for stay, if required.

The interview may extend beyond office hours or to the next day, along with test-takers should be prepared to stay accordingly at their own expense.

Only Indian nationals are chosen to send in.

Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
