For position JRF-E13 (M.Sc. route): M.Sc. in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% average of all semesters or CGPA/CPI of 6.84 on a 10-point scale.

The official notification states that, For position JRF-E13 (M.Tech. route): M.Tech. or equivalent in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 60% or CGPA/CPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.

All degrees must be duly recognised by AICTE/UGC or any other organisation authorised by the Government of India. Essential qualifications must be completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the university. aspirants who pursued professional courses through Open along with Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible to send in for JRF positions.

Where a university mentions both CGPA along with percentage in its degree certificate or consolidated mark sheet, at least one criterion must meet DOS/ISRO requirements norms. Rounding of percentage/CGPA is not allowed - values must be entered to the nearest 2 decimal places (e.g., 8.235 entered as 8.23; 8.236 as 8.24). Conversion of CGPA into percentage of marks is not permitted to determine requirements regardless of any conversion formula prescribed by the university.

NET / NET-Equivalent Requirement

The initial engagement is for two years, extendable based on assessment of work in addition to project requirements.
