The department has confirmed that, Stage 1 - INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)

Indian Navy Agniveer (Apprentice) Recruitment 2026 - Important Instructions

Only unmarried Indian male applicants are picked . Agniveers cannot marry during their entire 4-year tenure; violation will result in dismissal from service.

Agniveers are enrolled under the Navy Act 1957 for a period of 4 years. Indian Navy is not obliged to retain Agniveers beyond the engagement period.

Up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers may be offered permanent enrolment in the Indian Navy as Sailors (Regular Cadre) / Artificers based on performance along with organisational requirements.
