Eligibility Criteria
Both male along with female Indian citizens are eligible to submit for the BPSSC SI Recruitment 2026, subject to the educational qualification, age limit as well as physical standards prescribed in the notification.
Educational Qualification

Physical Standards
No marks are awarded for height, chest or weight, although applicants who do not meet the prescribed physical standards will be declared unsuccessful at the Physical Efficiency Test stage.
Interested applicants should know that, A minimum expansion of 5 cm in the chest is mandatory for male aspirants .
Chest measurement is not applicable for female aspirants .
Female test-takers of all categories must have a minimum weight of 48 kg.

Pay Scale
According to the latest notice, The post of Police Sub-Inspector (General Closed Cadre) carries Pay Level-6 as stated in the notification. The authorized announcement does not mention a specific in-hand salary figure.

Selection Process
Selection to the post of Police Sub-Inspector (General Closed Cadre) will be made through a three-stage process consisting of a Preliminary Exam, a Main Exam along with a Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Stage 1: Preliminary Exam
The Preliminary Exam will consist of objective, multiple-choice questions carrying 200 marks in total.

Duration: 2 hours
Marking: 2 marks for each correct answer
Subjects: English, General Knowledge, Hindi Language Knowledge, Reasoning along with Current Affairs

Stage 2: Main Exam

Paper I carries 200 questions for 200 marks, with 1 mark for each correct answer in addition to a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
