Eligibility Criteria for BPSSC Forest Range Officer
Nationality

Educational Qualification (as on 1 August 2025)
A candidate must hold at least one of the following:
A Bachelor's degree with at least one subject from: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Zoology, from a recognized university, OR
As per the official update, A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent institution.
Age Limit (as on 1 August 2025)
Age is calculated based on the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation (10th) or equivalent certificate.
Age Relaxation
Bihar government employees: 5 years' relaxation in maximum age limit for those who have completed a minimum of 3 years of regular service, for appearing in competitive exams to move to a higher pay scale/cadre.
Ex-servicemen (for civil posts): 3 years' relaxation plus relaxation equal to the length of defence service, provided actual age does not exceed 57 years as on the cut-off date.
Height
Chest (Male candidates only)
Candidates should note that, A minimum expansion of 5 cm is mandatory. There is no chest measurement requirement for female applicants .
